Great to have the CW available. Needs some things.

I love that the CW is now searchable and the copy/paste feature of Kindle is excellent as it automatically inputs the citation data. However, the digital CW does not provide the vol. number within the text pages, page # or essay title so knowing where I am within the CW when using the search feature is challenging. Many scholarly papers require the vol. # and essay title as part of the citation reference, as well as paragraph numbers, which are provided, and original publication dates. I would love to see the essay titles and index listed in the TOC with links to each. I urge the publisher to add these features if possible to make research work easier. Having said that, I am grateful that the CW is available in digital format as I can take it with me on my tablet wherever I find myself working. Thank you. One solution to knowing what volume and essay I am in while searching is to bookmark all the volumes and essays and then look at the location number to get a rough idea where I am, but it is no substitute for page numbers or volume numbers. Because the index reference paragraph numbers, that could be added here too and would be helpful. The kindle feature of X-ray might help with the navigation difficulties as well.

We need the Index - Volume 20

I am very happy to have Jung's works in digital format. This will allow easy access for research and learning when traveling. I have two serious concerns that I do hope the editors and publisher will rectify. We must have the volume and page numbers available when reading. Without these referents we are unable to cite things properly. Secondly, Volume 20, the Index to the Collected Works is essential. To deepen one's learning and to do proper research it is essential. A simple word search does not substitute for indexed subcategories. With these corrections I would easily offer 10 stars! This is a great start.

Wonderful Resource - BUT Kindle Table of Contents is inadequate for this huge collection

In summary, this is a great resource. Every student of Jung will want this collection. I give it 5 stars, but only with the workaround for the TOC problems, which I describe below. Otherwise, the Kindle version gets 3 stars.
And now for a more detailed review.... The price is fair, and the Kindle price is well below other ebook formats being sold. The file size is 65MB - not all that large, given the huge content. I have found a few typos in the ebook version of CW, but they are rare.
Like many others, I have had pdf and doc files of all the CW for several years, but this is a major improvement over my current collection - this official collection is far easier to use and to search. Of course, nothing will ever replace those well-worn hardcover books filling a shelf on my bookcase. However, that hardcover collection currently costs about $2000. This ebook version is a tool for research, or for those who want the whole collection at a reasonable price, and are willing to sacrifice the impressive display of the physical books....
THE MAJOR PROBLEM with the Kindle version is the format of the Contents table. Kindle shows ONLY the volume number, and each volume of course holds multiple works, and each work has multiple sections. If one does a word search, all the words are very quickly found. BUT besides a paragraph number (provided as in the print versions) there is no indication where one is in the volume, or which essay one is viewing. One must page back and back, to a section title page, in order to figure out exactly where in the volume you are. Bummer.
Several other reviewers on Amazon have commented on this lack. Of course, there are NO page numbers provided, but this is common in ebooks. It is not much of a problem for the researcher or writer, since academic references to Jung's CW are commonly made by volume and paragraph number, and not by page number.
This problem with the poor table of contents has a workaround solution, if you need it (and you probably will). I have discovered that all the TOC information is actually in the Kindle file. The Kindle app is simply not designed for display of such a multileveled Contents.
To access the full TOC, one must open the Kindle ebook in another ebook reader, such as Calibre (a free open source and excellent ebook reader, which I recommend). However, to open a Kindle book in Calibre, one must jump through some hoops. You will find information on how to do this by searching. It is simple, and just takes a minute to do.
This made all the difference for my uses. I found the Kindle app a poor format for reading this multilayered collection due to the absence of any orientation to where one is reading within the volume. The problem is NOT with the digital file, it is with the Kindle implementation of the TOC display. Calibre solves this, and provides a highly granular and complete TOC, clearly indicating exactly were you are reading within the CW. I do not know if other ebook formats (and Princeton is offering the collection in multiple formats besides Kindle) have the same problem with the TOC. However, with the above workaround, the Kindle version provides a complete package.
